Welcome to Project 64!

The goal of Project 64 is to preserve Commodore 64 related documents
in electronic text format that might otherwise cease to exist with the
rapid advancement of computer technology and declining interest in 8-
bit computers on the part of the general population.

Extensive efforts were made to preserve the contents of the original
document. However, certain portions, such as diagrams, program
listings, and indexes may have been either altered or sacrificed due
to the limitations of plain vanilla text. Diagrams may have been
eliminated where ASCII-art was not feasible. Program listings may be
missing display codes where substitutions were not possible. Tables
of contents and indexes may have been changed from page number
references to section number references. Please accept our apologies
for these limitations, alterations, and possible omissions.

Document names are limited to the 8.3 file convention of DOS. The
first characters of the file name are an abbreviation of the original
document name. The version number of the etext follows next. After
that a letter may appear to indicate the particular source of the
document. Finally, the document is given a .TXT extension.

The author(s) of the original document and members of Project 64 make
no representations about the accuracy or suitability of this material
for any purpose. This etext is provided "as-is". Please refer to the
warantee of the original document, if any, that may included in this
etext. No other warantees, express or implied, are made to you as to
the etext or any medium it may be on. Neither the author(s) nor the
members of Project 64 will assume liability for damages either from
the direct or indirect use of this etext or from the distribution of
or modification to this etext. Therefore if you read this document or
use the information herein you do so at your own risk.

Forgotten Worlds

For Play on Commodore 64/128 and Amiga

The Forgotten Worlds Story

Many years have passed since mankind dominated the Earth. Invaders
from another galaxy have nearly destroyed our planet in their attempt
to add it to their evil Empire. Led by Lord Bios, the alien horde has
crushed all opposition. YOU are the last hope. You must face their
assault in personal, deadly combat. Equipped with an anti-gravity
device and armed with photon gun, you will seek and destroy the
minions of the Empire.

In your attempt to overthrow the dark Lord, you will fight the
strangest and strongest creatures from around the universe. Do battle
with the lizardmen, the shapeless ones, and the fierce bronze dragon.
But you're not completely alone in your quest for freedom. You can
upgrade your weapons system at several locations scattered throughout
the lands.

FORGOTTEN WORLDS, the adventure of a lifetime!

Loading the Game
Commodore 64/128

Load in 64 mode only. Type LOAD "*",8,1 then return. The game will
automatically load from this point. Directions and options will be
displayed before the game begins.

Controlling The Game

FORGOTTEN WORLDS on the Commodore 64 and Amiga systems must be
operated by a joystick. The player's character can maneuver in all
directions by moving the joystick in the desired direction. The char-
acter can also fire the weapon(s) in a 360 degree arc, thereby
maximiz- ing the offensive capabilities.

If you move the character up, down, left, or right while pressing the
fire button on the joystick, this will change the direction of his
aim. If you wish to keep the direction of fire at one place, release
the fire button before moving the character. With experience, this
will become apparent.

Tips For Game Play

Look for the shops hidden among the ruins. With gathered zenny coins,
you can purchase valuable weapons and healing medicines to assist you.

Don't get comfortable in one firing position, the aliens will be
coming at you from all sides!

Each major enemy has a vital vulnerable spot. You must locate this to
destroy them.
